I took the bike here the night before. The weather report did not include rain for this night, which is why I brought my sleeping bag and a mat. Leaving at 22:13, I rode it through the night and arrived at the site at 23:43.
The Geohash was on a meadow, apparently the meadow the local marksmen's club uses for parades. The meadow is surrounded by a canola field on two sides, the road on the third side and a small river on the fourth.
After reaching the coordinates and recording proof, I rolled out the mat and sleeping bag and went to sleep. It has been a while since I slept outside the last time. I had some stars to look at. A nearby church bell audibly announced the time every thirty minutes. I fell asleep after 1:00.
I awoke at 3:30. It was colder than I expected, but not unbearable. I was unable to fall asleep again. The river gurgled. 4:00. A star fell, I made a wish. Bats overflew the meadow. 4:30. The birds' songs get louder while the stars fade away and the sky turns blue. 5:00.
I decided to get up at about 5:10. I rolled up the mat and the sleeping bag, took pictures of the Geohash and it's surroundings, and walked around a bit. Opposing the meadow on the other side of the road was a construction site. I got a picture of Wennigsen's town sign. I got back to the coordinates and planned the way back. The route turned out to not overlap at all with the route I took there the night before, I could have done the tron achievement had I not walked around. Oh well.
The sun was supposed to rise at 5:56, instead it chose to remain in the mist at the horizon as I was looking east from the coordinates. I went to my bike and started the way home: East, towards the now rising sun.
