Expedition

With the hashpoint landing in ASP again on a Saturday, I called J to see if she would be interested in joining me for another expedition after hiking and camping in Letchworth earlier in the week. She had some family time and errands to run in the morning, but was willing to join me in the afternoon for an adventure.

While I was waiting, I made sauce and pizza dough for dinner later and we were on our way around 13:45. I wanted to get some extra hiking in before going to the hash, but also knew that by doing so, we would miss the Official Saturday Meetup timeframe. We were able to get to the park right around 15:00, but I was surprised by how many people were in the park. I guess I shouldn't be with a really nice weekend and Fall Foliage still on display. Our first hiking trail we wanted to do was packed with cars at the trailhead so we kept moving and went to a horse trail a bit further down the road from the hash. With just one car parked here, we were sure to not see anyone and the dogs were happy to finally get out of the car.

Hiking for about an hour we turned around and made our way back to the car. Driving over toward the Bradford exit, we found the parking area off the road near the hash. With Myka really tired and not willing to continue walking, she stayed in the car as we started toward the hash. There was a short drop-off around the parking area, but the woods weren't too steep as we worked our way around fallen trees and thicker areas. Getting close, we had to cross a dried up creek and had a short GPS dance to zero in on the spot. After taking a couple pictures, we headed back to the car.

As we got close to the road, I wasn't exactly sure which side of the parking lot we were on, but looking over, I recognized the spot where we entered the woods and were able to find the car.

Tired, we headed home for pizza, beer and a scary movie.
