Expedition
A geohash less than 9 km away from home? I had to go and get it. It also looked like the perfect occasion to earn a couple of new achievements: the Tron achievement and the Juggernaut achievement. I planned my expedition carefully to come up with the most direct route. It consisted mostly of dirt roads between fields with five zigzags. I hoped I'd be able to cut a few of them (ideally the largest ones) by passing through a meadow or a harvested field.
Unfortunately, most of the time, my progress was hampered by a thick wall of corn stalks that I had to circumvent. Nonetheless, whenever I had the opportunity to trade distance for time without destroying crops, I did so, though that didn't make much of a difference in the end.
Once I was on the road, the last two kilometers were very straightforward. I arrived in Bischwihr shortly before 18:00, took a few pictures and left promptly before I'd start to look too suspicious.
The return was quite uneventful except that all the mud that had been previously picked by my back wheel was now starting to accumulate and form a compact blob somewhere under the mudguard.
