This graticule includes Ontario's most famous beach at Wasaga Beach. The Bruce Trail on the Niagara Escarpment runs from South-East to North-West through this graticule, with some of the most stunning scenery in all of Ontario. Also of note is the beautiful Beaver Valley, leading to Thornbury on Nottawasaga Bay (the southern end of Georgian Bay) and the micro-brewery in Creemore.
The graticule is 40% water, comprising of Georgian and Nottawasaga Bays, but includes serveral islands. On the eastern edge of the graticule is the Christian Island Indian Reserve 30A including Christian Island itself.
Specific warnings to geohashers include the areas around the Niagara Escarpment, with steep cliffs and slippery surfaces, and the Canadian Forces Training Center Meaford, North-West of Meaford proper. THIS IS A LIVE-FIRE RANGE AREA, AND EXTENDS INTO NOTTAWASAGA BAY. OBEY ALL SIGNAGE AND BUOYS FOR YOUR SAFETY.
