Location

In the woods in Southeast Clarke Park, southeast of Athens. I like the name "Clarke Park." It's cheerful.

Expedition

This is one of three expeditions I made during a trip to the Southeast in September 2019. About that time, the original Geohashing wiki was compromised; and I figured the game was up. I discovered the new wiki in December 2021 and am writing this in February 2022.

Here's how I described the expedition in my note home to Mrs.5000: "There's nothing like scrambling through forest understory in 97 degree heat, so I did a geohash on the outskirts of Athens. It was a win, a palpable win, although it still remains uncertain whether geohashing still exists."

I remember that I had the park pretty much to myself, not surprising in the heat of the day. I also remember it being quite a bit more arduous than I expected, and feeling pretty grubby by the time I got back to the rental car.

This was Expedition #227 for me, and because of the lost of the wiki, it was my very last geohashing expedition ever. Until 2021-11-28 45 -122.
