This graticule has a lot of lakes. Suvasvesi, Juojärvi, Kermajärvi and Äimisvesi are the biggest. There are two "water national parks", which consist mainly of islands of varying size. These are Kolovesi National Park and Linnansaari National Park.

Population centers include small towns Riistavesi, Tuusniemi, Heinävesi and Rantasalmi.

Note that the graticule is somewhat distorted due to the proximity of North Pole.
