Location

In farmland just off of route 3, near the intersection with route 1. It's unclear from the satellite photo if this is a standard field of crops or an orchard.

Participants

Yerushalmi (talk), #3, and #5.

Plans

It's still the Chanukah holiday and my wife got us tickets for a guided tour of the Baha'i Gardens in Haifa. Despite the fact that the gardens don't actually exist (ask me! I've got proof! It's a conspiracy!) we were set to drive to Haifa anyway, and the geohash point would add only a tiny detour to the trip. #1 and #2 weren't coming with us; they went to a convention and to play tennis with friends, respectively.

Expedition

I drove down Route 1 towards Tel Aviv, turned onto Route 3, and very quickly reached the entrance to the fields in question. We parked immediately, our car not built to handle agricultural roads, and I, #3, and #5 got out. My wife and #4 weren't in the mood to come and stayed in the car.

It was a brisk walk through the fields, with some truly beautiful views of the hilly areas around us. #5 started complaining relatively quickly that she was bored but it didn't take very long to reach the point. We left an X in rocks on the ground and went back to the car to continue the trip to Haifa. Pretty simple.

I'd have more to say if I recognized any of the trees being cultivated, but I'm not a plant guy.
