GPS
Good to hear that you've acquired a GPS. Now we won't have to fear that you get lost in the desert. Or more likely, we will see you get lost in the desert, because of it. Anyway, looking forward to your reports. :D -- relet 11:10, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- indeed, I'm glad to hear you finally got a GPS. No more missing hashes because of not being able to judge distances! --mykaDragonBlue [- i have no sig -] 14:53, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Relationships vs. Geohashing
[His] wife [...] thinks this whole geohashing thing is ridiculous but humors him with it because it's a way to get him out of the house. Sounds quite familiar to me: I often hear things like "It's good that today, there was a location you liked. You seem happier after a long bike ride." Do we see a somewhat-common pattern about how geohashing is valued in relationships? :-) --Zb 08:44, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
swap partitions
I've been having the same problem with my swap partition (swapon doesn't "stick") and I finally investigated after seeing the discussion in IRC. Basically, the line in /etc/fstab for my swap partition had "sw" instead of "defaults", and I also had the wrong UUID. I haven't rebooted yet to test whether it sticks, but I'll try soon. -- Phyzome 12:07, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Canadians in Israel
Hi there!
Xore and I are in Israel this week. Currently in Tel Aviv (got here in the small hours of the morning) and will have a car tomorrow. We're here for a week. We may try for tomorrow's hashpoint, as it's so near a road... interested in joining us? (Also, what museum do you work at? We will probably end up in Jerusalem at some point.) -- Rhonda 16:22, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Be in touch
Have you tried any other points lately? I just sprained my ankle but I'm looking forward to restarting in a few weeks. Yosef
