After university, Leidenfrost and I took the train to Mümmelmannsberg, but Leidenfrost's wagon got controlled by ticket inspectors, who fined him for transporting a bicycle during rush hour from 4 pm to 6 pm, which we had forgotten wasn't allowed. Not wanting to continue, we cycled the way back, whereas I carried on. I biked the last the last 2.5 km to the hash, the last kilometre of which consisted of a long slope and then a lush forest with ponds, part of the Boberger Moor within the protected landscape Boberger Niederung in which the hash lay. It was warm and the forest was very quiet and peaceful, the path natural and only a metre wide. I got to a beach-like area (part of the Boberger Düne) and continued my way along the Segelfluggelände Boberg (Boberg Glider Site), one of only four airfields in Hamburg, where I was able to spot some glider airplanes. I parked my bike under a huge freestanding oak and walked to the hashpoint, which was located in the five metres between a footpath in the forest and the sand bridleway that went along its edge. I watched to very numerous and loud Hymenoptera (probably hornets) that flew around the trees, though they were hard to photograph. I walked around to find the right spot, then went to nearby pond not even 10 m away, which was glassy and perfectly reflected the forest around it. I relaxed for a while under the huge oak.
Not wanting to leave just yet, I searched for nearby geocaches. There was an Earth cache at the edge of the forest where I had entered, directly next to a probably abandoned railway. On my way there I stopped several times in the forest to take in the mirror ponds and huge nettle hills, some of which I photographed. But when I got to the cash site, there was a fence just metres away from it because they were clearing the area of chemical toxins that had been found there. So I stood at the fence and took a photo of the site, which might or might not count as achieving the cache. There was another cache in the area, but I couldn't achieve it because it was located in the middle of a huge street, that I only passed under, and I wasn't able to find a way to get on it, though I tried. So I rode back to the site station and drove home, feeling content. This was without a doubt the most beautiful geohash I have done so far.
