A New Chapter

Since accepting a new job and subsequently moving from Texas to Arizona in mid-July of 2021, Gabe had not yet achieved a hash in his new home state. This was all to change on the 8th day of November when he woke up to an email notification alerting him to the day's hash being only about a mile (1.6 km) from his place of work. He planned to achieve his first Arizona hash over his lunch break.

Expedition

Imagine the least glamorous expedition to reach a hash that you possibly can imagine. Got it? Now make it 5 times more boring than that, and you might be in the ballpark of how boring this expedition was.

Gabe pulled off of a busy road into an alleyway that lead to the parking lot of a small and unassuming apartment complex, which probably has never before provided anyone much reason to notice it. He quickly parked his car underneath the covered car awning, temporarily borrowing one of the resident's parking spaces, snapped a couple of pictures (being sure to respect the privacy of the residents therein, who almost definitely didn't agree to the internet's selection of their parking lot for that day's random location), and hurriedly continued on his way.

Thus was Gabe's first Arizona GeoHash achieved.
