I had planned to celebrate New Year's Eve with my friends in the Vosges mountains. Unfortunately, we had to postpone because of You-Know-What. So, instead of partying all night long, I had spent the evening at home and gone to bed early. Which means I full of energy to go geohashing.
I cycled from Sélestat to Eguisheim along the EuroVelo 5, which goes through the vineyards on the slopes of the Vosges mountains. The afternoon was sunny and the effort was keeping me warm. I arrived in Herrlisheim-près-Colmar and entered the forest that separates the village from Rouffach.
The path quickly vanished and, at moments, I had to carry my bicycle on my shoulder. I finally reached the coordinates in a small clearing. There, I realised that it was a Saturday afternoon and that I was 25 minutes too late for the official meetup.
After recording proof, I cycled to Colmar and took a train back home.
