Expedition
On a nice sunny day, I took the S11 train to Cologne Worringen, which brought my until circa four km close to the hash. It took a walk of about 50 minutes to reach, passing through forests and fields until reaching the river shore. In the forest part, I noticed several "Mirkwood trees" which were completely covered with cobwebs. Fortunately, no giant spiders showed up.
When reaching the hash almost exactly at hash o'clock, it took only a short hashdance to find the spot and take screenshots as proof. With the river shore nearby, I found a stone and some driftwood to create a marker. Afterwards, I took some rest in the sun at the river, waiting for about half an hour for other geohashers to show up. I took some more pictures and then went back by foot through the Worringen village. I reached Düsseldorf at around half past six after a nice day outside.

Disclaimer
There is a mismatch between the coordinates I aimed for (51.06876635 N, 6.87614349 E, c.f. geohashing.info) and the destination ones displayed here in the wiki (51.4591310 N, 6.8416041 E), see the following discussion. As Crox nicely answered there, my coordinates seemed to be correct. Yay! \o/
