100+ expeditions! That's amazing! RecentlyChanged (talk)
Let me join in on the congratulations! Over 100 expeditions in less than a year, that shows a lot of dedication, well done and keep it up! --LeslieHapablap (talk) 08:19, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
That is great work!! Congratulations!
- You are the only other one to do this feat. If you are interested in breaking the record in one year, the record stands so far at 174 Geohashes in one year.
- You have also made Kassel the only other Graticule to have more than 1 month with 9 or more Coordinates reached geohashes...
- Berlin has 1 entry for a total of 9
- Cambridge, UK as 1 entry for a total of 9
- Mannheim has 1 entry for a total of 9
- Uppsala as 1 entry for a total of 9
- Wein has 1 entry for a total of 11
- Erfurt has 1 entry for a total of 13
- Kassel has 2 entries for a total of 19
- Atlanta has 15 entries for a total of 170
200+ successfull expeditions! Congratulations!

Expedition categories
Hi there. Sorry for undoing (most of) your recent category changes just now. I know that the category names aren't always intuitive but the "Expedition planning" category is the correct one for expeditions that weren't attempted.
The "not attempted" category on the other hand is reserved for expeditions to a so called "alternate meetup point". It's a historic thing (I personally haven't ever seen a single expedition to an alternate point in the last three years) and I don't like it but currently that's the (unwritten?) rules. - Mampfred (talk) 05:35, 2 October 2013 (EDT)
About You
Hi there, I've been watching the current events page, and you are getting to be quite the prolific geohasher! I would like to suggest that you write a few lines on your profile about what brought you to geohashing and what makes you enjoy it so much. Thanks for keeping the community going! -zhukant (talk) 01:26, 22 February 2014 (EST)
- And displaying the ASG template (it shows Age, Sex, Graticule) on your page would be nice.
It seems that we three (you, Sourcerer and me) are the three oldest active geohashers. :-)
--Q-Owl (talk) 04:56, 4 February 2015 (EST)
Congrats
You just beat the number of successful geohashes I managed to scrape together in a couple of years, congratulations :)
I hope you also made progress on the problems you had with your degree last time we talked. We should really go hashing together again so we can discuss this in more detail, I'm curious! - Mampfred (talk) 08:05, 6 October 2014 (EDT)
Out-hash the world
In January I made 20 expeditions. All the other geohashers in the world totalled only 13 (numbers subject to late reports). I'm guessing that you also, have out-hashed the world during your recent busy history. Do you think this is worth a ribbon? I have proposed one here and would appreciate your thoughts. --Sourcerer (talk) 09:36, 1 February 2015 (EST)
- OK I can't count and this is complete rubbish. It was fun while I was in fantasy-math land though! I still wonder if anyone has managed this though. --Sourcerer (talk) 09:48, 1 February 2015 (EST)

Hi Georg! You have been quite active in the Kassel graticule lately. I'm planning to visit the local hash tomorrow. Will you be there, and if you are, at which time? My plans are 16:00, but I'm flexible if you should be there sooner or later. --Fippe 12:11, 19 February 2015 (EST)
Thanks
pastori~~kiitos-danke-thanks for your help!
Completely missed I added the same picture twice in my expedition. Thanks for the fix. Pedalpusher (talk) 16:15, 8 September 2015 (EDT)
Sorrry
I think that I was unjustified angry yesterday (see Talk:Expedition-de). After having slept and at the second glance it seems, that it was not you who deletetd some texts. They disapperar without warnig, when two users work at the same page at the same time.--Q-Owl (talk) 03:43, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
In the wikipedia this is a BK. But nobody can see this beforehand. --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 05:44, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
Hiking trails - sources
Hello Georg, I will be visiting Germany next week and staying (on Sunday) in Bad König, which I am told is an improvement on Frankfurt. I have Open Street Map, but is there a better source for hiking trails in and about the Odenwald? If the weather isn't heavy rain, I'd like to take a small hike before relaxing in the Odenwald-Therme. Thanks for any info! --Thomcat (talk) 20:38, 16 February 2016 (EST)
Hello Thomcat! For information about hiking trails I use http://www.wanderreitkarte.de/ . The trails marked with yellow numbers on a black field with a yellow circle around or the same with white letters are usually so called Premium Hiking Trails, which are better maintained by the tourist information centers. The hiking trails with a symbol are long distance hiking trails or marked by the Odenwaldklub and have less quality, sometimes these muddy qualities, we always report of. But beware, it is wood harvest time, which means the graveled forest ways can be in a bad health too. Like at my last expedition. --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 06:05, 17 February 2016 (EST)
Rotenburg
I have been geohashing in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district. Congratulations!

Button
I programmed the button that we talked about, and DanQ has enabled user scripts. If you want to use it, copy the contents of User:Fippe/common.js to User:GeorgDerReisende/common.js. I took a screenshot how it looks for me. Does it work on your side too? --Fippe (talk) 10:00, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- I don't see the button. --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 18:27, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- The button only appears when editing an expedition page, not when editing other pages (like this talk page). But if the button also does not appear when editing expedition pages, it may be necessary to refresh the browser's cache. There are some instructions at the top of User:GeorgDerReisende/common.js, the exact refreshing procedure depends on your browser. Speaking of browsers, I was only able to test the button on Firefox and Chromium. If you use a different browser, that may be the issue, sorry. --Fippe (talk) 19:26, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah! Boah ey! --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 08:37, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- No. It ran only once. A new start of the browser (firefox) didn't help. A logout/login didn't help. A shut down/reset didn't help. --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 09:10, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Now I didn't expect any result. But it came out again. But only after another refresh. --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 09:39, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
Pointer to our hashiversary
Hey there, we're planning our hashiversary, see 2020-09-24 50 8. Maybe you happen to have time on that day as well and we could meet up somewhere? If you're interested, let me know, I think I also still have your mobile number from our meetup ages ago (ending in 47?). Also I can't think of anyone else active in the area but we're open to suggestions. -- Mampfred (talk) 16:56, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- Update: we are go for tomorrow morning, but we're not gonna make any 50 x graticule. Rough plan is to meet up at Frankfurt station @~ 8am. We'll start with 2020-09-24 49 7 around 10am (new graticule yay) and plan to get to 2020-09-24 49 9 around 1pm and 2020-09-24 49 8 around 3pm (all depending on traffic, food availability, amount of hiking required etc. pp.) as well in order to finish up at Darmstadt station where we're gonna split up again. I'm not sure if any of those, particularly the Damrstadt one I guess, are close enough to a road for you? Let us know what you think! - Mampfred (talk) 17:02, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- All these three meetups are not manageable for me. Only 2020-09-24 49 8 is a possible one. Latest departure there is 17:20. If you decide for this one and time, call me. --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 17:33, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- Is it an alternate meetup, if geohashers of two expeditions meet afterhash at a railway station? My train leaves Darmstadt at 18:30. --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 19:34, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- I actually meant this one as the last one, that was a typo, sorry. So yeah, we're definitely going there, the plan was to do it last because I'm going to take the train back from there as well. So if you're still around we could try a meetup around 3/4pm and I'd give you updates via SMS during the day on our progress? - Mampfred (talk) 19:49, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- While I hope we are there before 4pm, meeting in Darmstadt would work for me. We could probably also pick you up and bring you back to the station or something convenient. I'd be happy to see you (or other hashers) for our anniversary. Does Mampfred have your phone number? Rincewind (talk) 20:05, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- Think I do as we've met before unless it changed (ending in 47?) - Mampfred (talk) 21:21, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- (BK) SMS during the day is possible (...47!). Good luck! --GeorgDerReisende (talk) 21:25, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
