Revision as of 05:01, 6 August 2010 by imported>Benjw (moved Over and Under Geohash Achievement to Over and under achievement: Capitalisation as per wiki naming conventions.)
This is a proposal made on 2010-08-05. Please leave comments and suggestions on Talk:Over and under achievement, indicating your thoughts on the proposal, including:
  • Support - you think this proposal should be added with zero or minor changes
  • Do not oppose - you think it's boring/meh/not for you, but it wouldn't harm to have it created
  • Oppose - you have a specific reason as to why this ribbon should not exist (state this reasoning in your comment)
  • Needs work - you think the achievement should be created after more significant changes have been made

See Proposed achievements for more information on this process.

This achievement would mark when a single hashpoint is reached at substantially different elevations. As an example, I awarded myself this achievement (as a gratuitous ribbon) for reaching the 2010-08-05 45 -122 hashpoint both on an elevated freeway ramp and on the ground, several dozen meters below. Other examples could include the top and bottom of a cliff with a substantial overhang, a balcony and the sidewalk beneath, different floors of a tall building, or the base and upper limbs of a substantial tree.

There could be occasions when this would overlap with an Air Geohash or an Underground Geohash, but it is a somewhat different and, I think, noteworthy feat.

Ribbon

This is the "gratuitous ribbon" I made myself:

Michael5000 earned the The Over and Under Achievement
by reaching the same hashpoint at two different elevations (45, -122) geohash on 2010-08-05.
