Around noon, I boarded the BART in Berkeley. Shortly after boarding, the transit app I was using indicated the bus I was planning on taking was cancelled, but once I got to Union City it was there, so I boarded it.

Once we'd crossed the bay, the bus got stuck for ~20 mins because a construction crew had left some trailer in the middle of the intersection before leaving for lunch. When the bus tried to make the turn, it ran over several cones and almost hit the trailer, so we had to stop. A random passenger got out to try to direct traffic so we could back up, but there wasn't enough space to maneuver, so we were forced to wait for the construction crew to get back to move the trailer. With that delay, I ended up arriving at the hash at around 3 PM. I spotted sporeball across the street, and we met up at the hash and documented our encounter.

Afterwards, I hadn't eaten lunch yet so we walked to a nearby sandwich shop, after which we parted ways (sporeball going south, while I went north). I was hoping to return to Berkeley by 5 PM so I could make class, but the bus across the Dumbarton Bridge was really delayed and got stuck in traffic, so I wasn't able to make it in time. Guess I should have taken CalTrain instead - even though its initial ETA was later, I think I would have ultimately arrived early enough to make it to class.

calymsis reached out to me at about 12:00 PM asking if I would be able to reach the hash later that afternoon, and I accepted - the chance to have a successful meetup under my belt was too good to pass up. After getting off work at 1:00 PM, I got lunch and boarded the 61, then the Rapid 522 to reach the hash.

All went according to plan; calymsis' delays, though unfortunate, gave me time to buy candy as a gesture of goodwill. After we parted ways, I used the same bus lines to go back the way I came, deboarding at about 5:00 PM in time for a class of my own.
