Pastori and Wife are on the move again, this time in the lake filled Central Finland hunting the abundant hashpoints. Today there seemed to be two points in unconquered graticules approximately equal distance away from their lodgings, 27 km and 30 km as the crow flies.

After driving for another 76 km, Pastori and Wife were nearing the second point of the day. Because the point lay in a drained swamp, they figured that the area wasn't too wet to try and traverse, they were only worried about the size of the ditches.

Same as on the earlier point, they left the car 300 m from the point and walked the rest of the way. This time the old forest road was easier to get through than the thick forest before. It seemed that long ago someone had had their own little place here, with a cottage, a shed and an outhouse at the edge of an overgrown pond but now there were only some collapsed remains left. They moved pass the ruins and made it to the edge of the swamp. Thanks to some excellent pre-emptive research from Wife they reached the point with an accuracy of 3.13 m and only had to go through one swamp ditch. Walking through the swamp provided a nice work out which is sure to be felt the following day as well. On their way back they got a nice little surprise as 3 deer crossed the road ahead of them.

And off they went quickly back to their lodgings and the sauna waiting for them there.

The day's yield: 2 new graticules conquered, 174.5 km of driving, 1.890 km of walking, 5h50min expended.
