Go after the heat of the day - unusually it's actually hot today (by English standards)!
Expedition
About 40 years ago I sailed a Wayfarer dinghy along the full navigable lengths of the rivers Waveney and Yare, making a short diversion into Oulton Broad (the lake, not the town). I spent the night, moored in Slutton's Dyke so it's nostalgia time. The dinghy had a removable tent cover over the boom, so you could camp overnight in the dry. All very Swallows minus Amazons.
Soon after 7pm I located a large free car park for the nature reserve - ideal. It was a 1 km walk. I saw a heron, three swans, two flying and a frog or perhaps toad. The hashpoint was six metres into a pond, not shown on Google maps but visible on Bing. I made an approach from both sides of the pool. There were quite a lot of bird watchers so I was cautious about plunging in. I didn't want to trigger a suicide rescue attempt, all because of geohashing! By the ten metre rule this was "reached". By Bing maps (no batteries) it would have been reached. By Google it would have been reached. Had another hasher been present, I'd have met them. So I'm claiming this one unless the community lodges a protest.
