Plans
See when I have a no-rain window and if its wide enough, go then. It's not so far and I know the paths I must take, so in shouldn't last long.
Expedition
Field where the hash fell today.
I wasn't quite sure if I would be going after this one, since the weather forecast wasn't so favourable and I wasn't in the mood of biking under the rain (if there is even this mood). But after having breakfast it didn't seem so bad and I saw that I had 2 hours of no- to little-rain and I took the chance. It's good to go out for a while.
However, even with no rain, this cloudy windy days are the worst when biking ^^ It's slightly cold and can rain so I must bring a jacket, but I fire up very quickly and I end up soaked in sweat, and the jacket makes it worse. But I imagine you end up getting used to it.
So I left at... 10:45-ish, and a few drops were falling, but it ended a few minutes later as expected. I took Winterbuche and went towards Groß Schönwalde. They are constructing this new bicycle lane that is supposed to go to Hanshagen but it won't be finished until November. It would have been ideal for going to Diedrichshagen, since it's midway, but I had to take the usual detour.
Cycled the south edge of the NSG Eldena and took the no-end-street that goes south. There I parked Winterbuche. Here there are some train tracks but they lead solely to the power plant in Lubmin and I think I have never seen a train on these tracks. So I followed them walking right on them. It's strangely pleasant to walk on train tracks, isn't it? And right near of them I encountered a very simple camping tent. A little far away for Fippe to go camping on this hash ;P It was empty. I don't know for sure if it was being used recently or if the wind brought it here. Quite curious.
Then when I was already about 80m near the hash, I went after it. Checked my GPS, goal accomplished. Took some pictures and went back. It was a little windy but there was no rain. Still on the field, following my steps back, I notice some potatoes sticking out the soil. That's how I knew this was a potato field, it could have been anything.
The way back I went through the NSG Eldena. I reported, not even a month ago, how beautiful the forest coated with the Wood anemone was. Well, they last only a few weeks and now, even more noticeable with yesterdays rain, the forest exploded in an intense green sea you can even breath it. Little wannabe-trees, 1.5m height full of new young fresh leaves soaking the undergrowth. It's kind of fascinating to notice and enjoy the different stages the forest undergoes and has to offer throughout the year.
And not 20 minutes later I was already parking Winterbuche and jumping into the shower to freshen up. Now writing the report with a warm tea it's raining again outside, but I have already accomplished my mission.
