  • Support - you think this proposal should be added with zero or minor changes
  • Do not oppose - you think it's boring/meh/not for you, but it wouldn't harm to have it created
  • Oppose - you have a specific reason as to why this ribbon should not exist (state this reasoning in your comment)
  • Needs work - you think the achievement should be created after more significant changes have been made

See Proposed achievements for more information on this process.

(RIBBON TO BE ADDED)

Similar to a childhood game of tag in which the goal is to tag the nearest person, your goal is to reach (or "tag") the nearest hashpoint.

This achievement can be earned by visiting the geohash closest to the geohash you visited the day before multiple days in a row. You do not have to reach the geohashes, but a genuine attempt must be made for each one. A minimum of three consecutive days are required to earn the achievement, and you may attempt multiple geohashes on each day. Using personal motorised vehicles is forbidden, as this greatly reduces the difficulty of the achievement - public transport and human-power only. An example of geohashes which could be used for this achievement can be found in the image below.

Frequent geohashers may notice similarities between this achievement and the Consecutive geohash achievement. The main difference is that you are not free in choosing the geohash and instead must go to the one closest to your previous one. You are also restricted by your transport, and reaching the geohashes is not required.

As the number of days increases, the achievement gets more difficult (and more impressive). It is possible to combine this achievement with the Endurance Geohashing achievement, which requires you to stay overnight near the geohash points and forbids returning home during the achievement attempt, but it is not required to do this.

Proof

As reaching the point is not necessary, the standard proof of success is not required. However, there are a few things needed to validate the achievement:

  • A screenshot of https://geohashing.info (or similar) showing that the points were the nearest to each previous one.
  • A photo (or detailed account) of each mode of transport taken.
