Who Went

Stephen

Remembered to look up the location in the early afternoon. The location fell at the very top of the graticule which wasn't practical for the two 'official' graticules for Melbourne. Decided to create the new 'south east' graticule.

Arrived a minute or so after 4PM and had a look around and took a couple of photos. Then noticed two people walking towards me as if they were following directions from a handheld device. They were also here for the meetup.

Their names have completely slipped my mind. I hope they update this page.

We hung around for about half an hour. Collected some rubbish in an abandoned shopping trolley, they were going to return the trolley to the shopping centre where they had parked.

It would have been possible to get a bicycle achievement for this location as it isn't far from the path along the freeway that meets the Dandenong Creek Trail in the west. Considered it, but didn't have enough time.

Lord Adam

Remembered to check location as soon as I got up (early afternoon). The location fell way in the Northern part of the graticule, and in the one just south of us it landed right near the state's largest Krispy Kreme. Despite our usual laziness, this motivated us to take part in out first ever proper geohash, oblivious to the virginity of this graticule.

Arrived a few minutes after 4PM, thanks to my trusty iPhone and the geohashing app. Noticed a guy standing there as if he had been following directions from a handheld device. He was also here for the meetup.

His name was Stephen, though I would've misspelled it if he hadn't already updated this page.

We hung around for a while, a half hour perhaps. We Geotrashed for the Geotrash Geohash achievement. See photos. It's more fun than it sounds! We returned the trolley with the trash to a parking lot - the geohash landed near Fountain Gate "F-Gate"* shopping centre.

I am the guy with the hat. (It's my geohashing hat.)

Lulu

Woke up next to a strange boy who happened to be wearing a Geohashing hat.

"Oh, rapture!" I exclaimed, "How convenient! Not only are you wearing your hat, but the Geohash has landed 200m from the states largest Krispy Kreme! And what is that, if not a sign of a great adventure?!"

After being promptly bitch-slapped, we went on our journey.

Then as above, for the most part.

I prefer to think the abandoned shopping trolley was the actual Geohash point. Bit more romantic than a wooden post, because, you know, shopping trolleys are a little more transient.
