Graticule

Roswell

About

The Atlanta Graticule was way to far south so I decided to make this one.

People

My girlfriend has been asking me for a while to make it on an GeoHash trip. She worked it out for today that she didn't have to work. She didn't do that to make the hash location but because my brother from Maryland is here for the weekend.

My older brother is off at my mothers house today until later tonight so we decided to make the hash location. The location is in the back yard of someones house.

We gather up the kids and then drive off for Marietta. We arrive a few minutes after 4pm. I walk up the driveway and knock on the door. My girlfriend and her kids wait in the car. I didn't want to scare off the home owner with three screaming kids.

I knock and knock on the door. I wait three to four minutes. Nobody answers. I walk back to the car and take a picture of my eTrex for the official date and time of the meetup. I sit and talk with the rest of them our options, especially the no trespassing award.

We decide that the no trespassing award is the best thing to do. I take another picture of the eTrex that has a location to show how close that we got. We then start to drive off. As I am turning the car around someone pulls into the driveway of the house.

I pull back in front of the house and walk down the driveway to the car. I explain myself and Geohashing. I explain that I have my kids with me and we would really like access to their back yard.

PERMISSION GRANTED!!!

I gather them all up and we walk around to their back yard. I find the location and take a picture of the eTrex. I then take a few group shots. I didn't post all of them.

We then walk back and thank the homeowner and then leave back for Norcross.
