While DerFlob was preparing Freezie's (as we later called him) body, The_T-Man retrieved some sticks and stones from a nearby group of shrubberies as arms, eyes and a mouth. As a finishing touch, we equipped Freezie with a scarf, a carrot nose (that was brought by The_T-Man in a sudden outburst of advance planning) and the obligatory GPS receiver unit. After we reclaimed our most precious items, we left Freezie behind to greet fellow travelers (and eventually the approaching season of spring).

After The_T-Man left some giant XKCD characters in the snow for potential followers, we headed back towards Holzkirchen. It turned out our planning was quite precise and, eventually, we were happy to escape the cold winds (which were just over 2°C) and get back on the train to Munich East. Considering that just after we got on the train, it started snowing, we can really be grateful for the favorable weather conditions Mother Nature supplied us with.

Expedition

Getting There

Our expedition started at Munich East Station, where we took the suburban train to Holzkirchen. From there on, we crossed the town, had a look at some minor local sights and then followed the road towards Großhartpenning for about 3 km. There, we made our way through the village and took a small track that led us up a hill on which the hashpoint was located. After passing by some minor fences, we arrived at the site of the hashpoint and held on a second to catch our breath.

The Snowman

Since there was still a pretty continuous layer of snow at the site of the hash, we began building our snowman next. As it turned out, the snow even got the perfect degree of stickiness for our project.

The Way Back

After The_T-Man left some giant XKCD characters in the snow for potential followers, we headed back towards Holzkirchen. It turned out our planning was quite precise and, eventually, we were happy to escape the cold winds (which were just over 2°C) and get back on the train to Munich East. Considering that just after we got on the train, it started snowing, we can really be grateful for the favorable weather conditions Mother Nature supplied us with.
