Plans

I was hoping for an "easy" geohash for Canada Day and that's exactly what I got. Better yet, I convinced an old friend to join me. I had driven past this hill many times and thought, "what an unusually arid hill, you could hike anywhere there."

Despite the nearby road, I knew this would unlikely provide a way up, since it was lined with houses and private property. Instead we would head west to get above them, and then make a longer hike across the hill.

Expedition

We parked at the head of a trail. There were other people there walking dogs and enjoying the scenery. It all seemed easy until the trail ended at a ravine. We ended up crossing many ravines--small ones that I expected. This ravine was more like a canyon, and we spent the better part of the hike crawling our way down and back up again.

After this ravine there was no trail, and the local shrubs made sure to embed a few hundred seed pods on each of us. Still a nice hike, ending with a nice view.
