Plans

Wait for named-storm "Barney" to blow itself out. Go there and post a Crox Poster through the letter box.

Expedition

I could not get 3G reception at the site. The second house in the photo was the one. The hash-distance at their front door dropped momentarily to one metre before going back up to three. I posted the Crox Poster as planned at almost exactly 4pm.

There was not too much storm damage. I saw one fallen tree and a leaning lamp post that might have been unrelated to the wind. It was worse further south with railway delays.

Named storms are new to the UK. I'm wondering if our Met' Office has a sense of humour. The first storm was called Abigail (A big gale?) and Barney is Cockney rhyming slang for "Trouble" as in Barney Rubble (of the Flintstones). Now I can't wait for the "C" storm to see if I'm right.

Update: The next storm will be called Clodagh which has no humour value I can discern. There goes that hypothesis. I have also learned that the public can suggest names for Met'Office use.
