Expedition

Emboldened by success on previous missions, I decided to observe the nefarious velociraptor nest at Andover, for Science! I enlisted the help of my girlfriend PH and over coffees at Lydiard Field we carefully planned our approach. We determined that I would continue alone should the hashpoint prove to be surrounded by cows. We also decided the mission could not possibly succeed without water bottles and travel sweets and so we bought our vital provisions at the shop next door.

Soon afterwards we were heading south on the A346. The journey continued uneventful even as we started eastward on the A303. Eventually we reached the Magic Roundabout pub, where we stopped for light refreshment. Thus fortified we continued our expedition.

Then events took a terrible turn! I suddenly lost confidence in my navigational abilities and started backtracking over our previous course. Cunningly deducing this to be a mind-control ploy of some velociraptor wizards, we resumed our previous heading and found our way to the hashpoint.

The hashpoint was up a tree in a garden with eight foot high walls. I briefly considered doing a backflip over the wall, but eventually we decided that the wall counted as 'close enough'. Pausing only to photograph some nice local trees and horrible local cars, we then proceeded at warp speed to the raptor nest. Unfortunately the raptors were particularly dangerous at this time because they had been thwarted in their own mission for lunch. This was because the local supermarket was closed due to the antiquated local trading laws. Anyway, they had set a trap for us!

Suddenly we were surrounded! First I fell to a raptor's vicious mauling and then PH fell under the claws. Somehow we scrambled to our feet and fled leaving hungry raptors to curse their luck. Our wounds were severe. It was only by virtue of our supreme constitutions that we were able to make it home and recover enough to submit our expedition log.
