Plans

I've got something in the morning, but hopefully in the early afternoon I can try for Geohashing Day!

Expedition

Well, in the afternoon, I set out for the hashpoint. I programmed my GPS, and managed to convince my cellphone to provide maps and such. The route looked fairly simple, and I was soon 0.3 miles from the hashpoint. However, I knew I was on the wrong side of it, and needed to go around to the other side of it in order to get close. However, I never managed to get to the other side. I lost signal to the cellphone, and my GPS, though very good at pointing directly at the hashpoint, wasn't able to help me navigate the roads around the hashpoint to get get to the "other" side.

My fallback was to look at Google Maps on the mobile phone, but with no signal, and thus no internet, that was of limited use.

I kept going for about a half hour longer than it should have taken, and finally gave up. The road surface turned into gravel and back again during my adventure. At the end, I was close to Hwy 30, so I took that and Cornelius Pass Road back to home instead of trying to backtrack.

Overall, not a very successful hashing expedition, but it was an adventure!
