Location

Overgrown woods up a hill near Moraro.

Participants

Plans

OtherJack had traveled to 45,13 for a workshop for his job, and had originally wanted to go visit his 48,16-based friends afterwards, whom he missed. However, his friends (well, at least B2c and Micsnare) instead decided to drive down and visit him! So they all lived "la dolce vita" in 45,13 for a few days, it was great fun. This was the only Geohash they did during that time, the other points were rather inconvenient.

Expedition

The hashers were already driving around 45,13 that day to touristy stuff, and it was a nice hot sunny day, so they decided to bag this hash as well. They drove through the small town of Moraro and then on a little road through some farms, to a bridge over a canal. On the other side of the bridge was an even smaller dirt road turnoff where they parked the hashmobile and began walking. There were some bugs, but not too bad.

They followed the dirt road along the canal at first, but then turned west on another dirt path across some big open farm fields (and past a farm house) until they reached the corner of the hash woods. There they turned north, uphill, and climbed the path along the boundary of the woods until they reached the latitude of the hash.

It looked very overgrown and Jack was ready to chicken out, but B2c insisted it could be done, and indeed it turned out to be quite passable after some initial bushwhacking and brush-parting at the edge of the woods. They found the hash point maybe 30m west into the forest from the path. Micsnare elected not to go with them into the woods, so she gets credit for the expedition but not the achievement. :>

After the hash they went to some misplaced Roman ruins, and finally to a well-known beach on the Adriatic, where the swimming was very nice.
