Expedition

I took the train to Hamburg and rented a bike there, which I rode to the coordinates, which were around 10km away. I did not need to take many turns, and it felt like I was on the same long road the entire time.

As I approached the Geohash, I immediately recognised the house where it was in front of, since I had taken a look at satellite pictures and Google Maps before.

The coordinates were not hard to enter, they were directly next to the house on the sidewalk, there was no yard. Behind the house there is a gas station.

However, my device told me I was standing on the wrong side of the street, so I was unable to record proof. On the other side of the street, the device also (correctly) showed that I was on the wrong side of the street. At the gas station, the device also showed the correct coordinates, just not at the Geohash. The closest I got according to the device is 5 meters. Maybe it is a bug in the satellite or the house is a secret government building, who knows.

My pictures of the house and the surroundings shall suffice as proof, I decided. After all, the house and the surroundings were enough for me to know I was in the right place.

Afterwards, I rode the bike back to the train station and took a train back to Hannover.
