As planned, I drove to Mihla in the morning, but unfortunately there was a roadblock to Lauterbach, so I had to drive a detour of some 6 kilometers to finally reach the youth hostel ''Urwald-Life-Camp'' where I parked my car and went for a nice walk through the Hainich forest to find some geocaches. This tour was 13,5 kilometers and I walked 3:20 hours and reached my car satisfied after some great impressions in this very old forest, which is a '''Unesco World Heritage''' since 1997! Indeed, this is the biggest broadleaf forest in entire germany, which makes it so special.

But, after having a little break at my car, I know did the second little hike to the geohash - this time it only were some 2,4 kilometer to get to the hash and back. The hash was located in a wooded area and I had to go off the main path some 25 meters to locate todays hash, which turned out to be a big, massive tree (how surprising in a wooded area hehe)... I made some pictures for proof and got back to my car - right then it started to rain, how lucky I was, since today was cloudy but dry! After 16 km walking through the woods I drove home satisfied and celebrated the day with a beer and a delicious pipe!

Plans

Drive to Mihla, after having some breakfast. It's my day off, so I am a lucky one today! Somewhere east of Mihla there's the Jugendherberge Urwald-Life-Camp - here I will park my car and do a nice tour through the Hainich forest of some 12 km with a few geocaches - having a small detour at the end, to go for the hash as well - of course ;-)

Expedition

As planned, I drove to Mihla in the morning, but unfortunately there was a roadblock to Lauterbach, so I had to drive a detour of some 6 kilometers to finally reach the youth hostel Urwald-Life-Camp where I parked my car and went for a nice walk through the Hainich forest to find some geocaches. This tour was 13,5 kilometers and I walked 3:20 hours and reached my car satisfied after some great impressions in this very old forest, which is a Unesco World Heritage since 1997!
