Cyprus has a Mediterranean coastal climate good for swimming and mountains high enough for winter skiing all on the same day. It's a popular tourist destination and there has been a huge population swap between Britain and Cyprus. This graticule is mostly sea water so a land hash is a bonus. Some of the more mountainous areas are not easy to access so it's not an easy square to go geohashing.
The military base at Akrotiri remains a British Sovereign Base, and as such forms part of the British Overseas Territory of Akrotiri and Dhekelia.
2011 Expeditions
- 2011-12-19 (Monday): Sourcerer visited a well maintained and unfenced market garden 500 metres north of Emba and 4 km north of Paphos, Cyprus.
This graticule can now return to its inactive status.
