The Hawai'i Island graticule is at latitude 19, longitude -155. It covers the majority of the island of Hawai'i (the Big Island) and includes the cities of Kona and Hilo and the attractions of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Mauna Kea State Park. The majority of the interior of the island is without roads and comprises steep terrain up to 4200 m (13,800 ft). Geohashers here have unique opportinities to visit geohashes at the volcano, though care should be exercised.
