Today's Location: [Seattle, WA]

The Seattle, WA graticule is at latitude 47, longitude -122. It completely encloses the cities of Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia, as well as the surrounding large cities. The graticule is mostly land, but also encloses most of the Puget Sound. This graticule essentially encompasses the major hub of western Washington.

Participants

  • JenBoi - 29 May 2008 - Seattle was disappointingly under-represented at the first public geohash ever.
  • Tony - 28 May 2008 - Today is a good location. But I won't be making it.
  • Christian Campbell 23:15, 23 May 2008 (UTC) - I'll get there a bit after 17:00 and probably hang out till a bit after 19:00.
  • Greg I can't make it to the May 24th (Saturday) location (it is too far away), but I might be able to make it to the 25th (Sunday) location, if anyone else is going. If I come, I'll bring the Twister set!
  • Marcy I'll be stopping by the Saturday (May 24) location in the evening. I'd be happy to meet up if someone else is interested. You can pick the time.
  • Charles I haven't made any meetups yet, but might be able to make it to a Saturday meetup. Any other XKCD users looking to meet up?
  • Jim McKeeth 15:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC) - This Saturday is out of range for me. Already have plans at 4PM, so I can't sneak out that far away. Looks like a good location (near the roads and near a park). I'm in the Everett area (north).
  • Widdershins 08:53, 25 May 2008 (UTC) - I certainly don't have a lot of Saturdays free, nor transportation, though I may be able to shanghai other xkcd people I know into gathering up and setting off. I also have a reliable GPS. As far as games go, airsoft might be an extremely fun option for many locations.
  • Cahlroisse 21:27, 21 May 2008 (UTC) - I'm most often free Saturdays until around 6 or 6:30. I also know a few other people who read the comic who I'm sure I can rope into coming with me sometimes.
  • geekxx 21:37, 21 May 2008 (UTC) - My Saturday availability is hit or miss, but I do have an airplane which could make for some interesting adventures, and the ability to travel to other graticules.
  • Jim McKeeth 22:11, 21 May 2008 (UTC) - Taking an airplane to graticules would be really cool. I'd be up for that (at some unspecified date).
  • Peter 03:09, 22 May 2008 (UTC) Are there any more challenging graticules for metropolitan areas? My money is on no.
  • -chronomex 03:04, 22 May 2008 (UTC) - I'll come if I get all my homework done, and if it's in reasonable busing range from central Seattle. Probably not, then.
  • Bluesheep 21:34 22 May 2008 (UTC) Glad to see there are some seattle-ites here, other forums I dabble in never have any. I'd happy to join in a few saturdays this summer!
  • Aptenodyte 17:20, 22 May 2008 (UTC) Oh yes, I'm in.
  • Bara 2008-05-24 04:06 (UTC) I'm in for this 2008-05-24... planning to arrive 4-ish and stay at least for a couple of hours.
  • Dave.haku 04:53, 24 May 2008 (UTC) See you guys there, can't miss this one.
  • Catherio 06:24, 28 May 2008 (UTC) was busy, but will come along in the future! (at least until my move to Boston in August...)
  • Nukewaste Live in Bremerton, so I'll get to most of the West side Saturdays, and some Seattle side ones, depending on how close they are to civilization.
  • bmvaughn lives in Ballard and plans to meet up for this Saturday 2008-05-31, but has only a simple GPS on his blackberry.
  • Dave LeCompte 13:14, 28 May 2008 - Drove past [the May 28th] location. I might make Saturday meetups if they're convenient to 405.
