This template returns an image symbol for a given graticule and links to the graticule page. It does not define a symbol for every graticule (yet).

Feel free to add symbols for missing graticules by editing this page and finding the appropriate row; the format of each row is |lat, long=shortname where | is a pipe, instead of typing lat or long you type the numerical latitude or longitude of the graticule in question, and the shortname may or may not be the wiki pagename for the graticule (but it makes it easier to recognise if it is; either way, can include spaces and limited punctuation). The shortname is seen on hover over the symbol, and is also how the template finds the image: upload your desired symbol as [the shortname here].png and if appropriate add it to category:coats of arms. Rows are sorted by latitude from north to south (so large positive to large negative) and then within each latitude band by longitude west to east (large negative to large positive).

Example

  • {{symbol|52,9}}: Hannover
  • {{symbol|52,9|Hannover, Germany}}: Hannover
