I discovered Geohashing when going through all the comics chronologically, after discovering xkcd itself on the 15th Dec. 2021, but I lost track of it and only rediscovered it in June 2023. About Me

I work in IT, am a former student in the natural sciences and a casual geohasher from the 53,9 graticule, living near Pinneberg, Schleswig-Holstein. I discovered Geohashing when going through all the comics chronologically, after discovering xkcd itself on the 15th Dec. 2021, but I lost track of it and only rediscovered it in June 2023. I will mostly hash alone or with π π π whenever one is reasonably reachable by bike, car or public transport.

    • For those interested: In Germany, all drones which are not explicitly classified as toys need the following:
      • A Haftpflichtversicherung (liability insurance) with explicit inclusion of damage done by drone.
      • An e-ID from the LBA (Luftfahrtbundesamt, German federal aviation administration), which is free and just needs insurance and ID confirmation.
      • A metallic sign on the drone with at least this e-ID. Name, phone number, etc. are optional.
