The coordinates were on the inside lane of a circle road off a state highway.
Expedition
excellentdude: It was almost unarguably the nicest day of the year so far around here, so why not try for a geohash! Living in East Lansing, the coordinates being in the northeast corners of the graticules provided an excellent opportunity to work on a minesweeper achievement by geohashing in the Grand Rapids graticule to the west. The coordinates appeared to be just off a somewhat odd circle road off a state highway. Given the configuration and small size of the road, I figured the spot was just a few steps into someone's front yard. Upon arrival, I discovered the coordinates were in the road, just inside a huge muddy rut. That allowed me to get another Speed Racer geohash.
I tried to get some pictures of one of the many large, semi-frozen puddles that happened to be within feet of the hash but was just an example of what many yards looked like in the area. The reason it was so nice that day was because a warm front with a lot of rain had come through over the previous few days. That rain melted a lot of snow, causing there to be minor flooding and standing water in many places. When the temperature dipped at night, that standing water froze. Although it was several degrees above freezing when I visited the hash, the puddle of ice still hadn't melted.
As I drove away from this leisurely Sunday geohash near some people's houses where I'd gotten one strange look from a passerby, the sounds of Boston's "Long Time" coming over my radio seemed quite appropriate:

- You'll forget about me after I've been gone
- And I take what I find, I don't want no more
- It's just outside of your front door
