Location

The hash lies on a meadow in Hamburg-Volksdorf. This meadow belongs to the natural reserve Volksdorfer Teichwiesen, but the hash lies only two meters south of the northern border, this might be near enough to reach it. The meadow is about 700 meters away from the underground station Volksdorf.

To go there by hitchhiking, looking for friends for a XKCD-meeting and then spending the night at Hamburg.

Expedition

I hitchhiked from Kassel to Hamburg with two cars, I needed four hours from home to the junction Hamburg-Othmarschen at the A7 motorway. At first I went to a hostel, then I went to the hash. I arrived there at about 15:55 and found the meadow with a fence around it. But the hash was outside the meadow in the wilderness between the meadow and the path. I waited at a bench nearby for other geohashers, but nobody came. Really at the spot it looked like somebody had been there short before, maybe a Ninya geohasher. At 16:25 I left the site.

		I left home at 9:15 in the morning, went to the hitchhiking spot in the Dresdener Straße in Kassel and got there a lift after 15 minutes to the service station Göttingen, there I got the lift to Hamburg after another 15 minutes. I arrived at Hamburg at 13:15 and at my usual hostel Schanzenstern St. Pauli in the Bartelsstraße at about 14:00.

		I arrived near the hash at 15:40 and the first thing I found, was the fence around the meadow and I thought about how near to the hash I would come.
		I tried to walk to the hash and at first I found me only six meters away. I thought the hash lies on the meadow. But then I saw nearby a trail looking like somebody else walked to the fence, but to another place.
		Walking to that place I found me only three meters away from the hash, what is near enough. The double pile is the place which I found first, the one pile to the right was the second place.
		Some grin and the bench, where I waited for my friends. But nobody came.

		After I left the place, I found this sign saying, that the natural reserve begins just outside the path. Above the path there was a street and a small forest.
		Some last part of the lakes, which have formed the Volksdorfer Teichwiesen and a lot of ravens, which populate the meadows and the trees.
		In the evening I walked along the riverside of the Elbe and I found a sightseeing tower. The left photo shows the Norderelbbrücken, the old bridge across the northern arm of the river Elbe, the rigth photo shows a part of the harbour, in the background on the left side the Köhlbrandbrücke and on the right side the Elbphilharmonie.
