This was quite spontaneous. Planning begun a few hours before the expedition started. The weather was perfect, I remembered seeing a good location in my automated daily geohash mail, so I asked GuyIncognito if he wanted to join, and he did.

Expedition

In my great wisdom I decided to change the tire of my back wheel (which I have meant to do for quite a while) just as I was about to get started. Probably you could have heard me swear from miles away, there are more fun things to do than making the tire snap over the rim. Finally, with some brute force, I got the tire back on.

This was a perfect road bike geohash: we could go almost right up to the spot on sealed roads. We started at 4 in the afternoon, made a little detour to gain some extra altitude on the way there, and enjoyed the tailwind on the way back to Innsbruck, which is typically blowing from the East in the afternoon.

I clearly noticed some lack of sleep in my overall performance, and additionally was stupid enough not to eat my cereal bars. So I pretty much hit the wall on our way back, but luckily GuyIncognito towed me all the way home.
