Hic Sunt Laganum: Angel Food soloed this as Red Velvet was unavailable. The track was a half mile along the trail and another 300ft into the deep woods. I tightened up my laces made sure my socks were pulled up and plowed on through, the snow off the trail was running between two and three feet deep. Thankfully, the temperature was cold enough that the snow wasn't sticking to anything including my pants so I didn't have to worry about wet clothing. There were couple of areas that were about four feet deep that really slowed me down though. I found a fallen tree that I walked on which gave me enough height to drop the snow level back to mid-thigh. It was just after four when I arrived but I saw no other tracks leading me to believe that I was the first to the meetup point. I took a few photos admiring how nice it the day is despite the cold. I decided to take a different way out and bounded off at an angle through the deep snow. I arrived back to the car, took the temperature photo then headed home.
