At first this hash didn't enter my radar. I saw that it was relatively near a train station but too many transfers, maybe? But then, realizing it was not that far from the river Llobregat, why not trying to bike there. It was raining while thinking that, but tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, so why not?
A good think a river implies, is that there are no major slopes. So, a +50km route (there and back) was not that scary. It's been a while since my last one. So I planned carefully on the map what paths to take and there I had it. A viable plan.
Expedition
So I executed it. Woke up at 8h, breakfast and at 09:02h I was already riding Frühlingskiefer towards the Llobregat. I must first cross a mountain in order to reach the bank of the river. So I knew I had my elevation gaining now in the start and (more scary) on the very last part, when my legs will be tired.
First 10km where very similar to the ones as in this hash, then I crossed the river on the first opportunity so to not repeat so much on the way back. Found a few geocaches on the way. And then I reached Sant Boi, maybe known for two basketball players born here being the only brothers on winning the NBA championship. I was thinking if I had ever visited Sant Boi when it came to me that I probably went here on my high-school years to, actually, play a basketball match. It has rained a lot since then.
The hash fell on the agrarian park. Here the river reaches the sea in a delta, and the soil is very fertile. And I wasn't so sure if it was allowed to go there. It is allowed, but on certain paths. Those are the ones I took. And while approaching the hash area, I thought that maybe I wouldn't be able. The first deviation coming from north had closed gates, and from there nothing indicated that on the next turn it would be different. But, lucky for me, it was. The gates were open.
This is that grey area: There are no signs, no gates, nothing, but you still have that feeling you are not allowed there, or that what are you doing here. Mmm, I took my camera out and in case someone approaches me I was just taking some beautiful pictures :) Nobody approached me and I had the opportunity to locate the hash easily. Yay.
The way back was very similar, but from the other side of the river. And then the last push. After 40km, again a 300m altitude gain for the last 10km to overcome the mountain and reach home. I was unexpectedly fresher than anticipated, all thanks a second breakfast I had with me. A very necessary extra energy. The a few more extra geocaches, and home ready to have lunch.
