Expedition

This is the final expedition of our Road Trip and another attempt to keep a Consecutive Streak going. You can find the previous expedition here.

With nothing really planned for this part of our trip (our last weekend in Denver), we decided to get up early and check out the Botanical Gardens after dropping off our rented tent and camping equipment. Parking was pretty tough to find near the gardens, but we lucked out when we drove through the parking ramp the second time and someone was leaving right in front of us. Spending the morning walking around the gardens was relaxing and very nice. I really like how they have things set up there!

After that, it was lunchtime, so we hit up Epic brewery and ordered lunch to be delivered (they don't offer food) and then we went back to the hotel to relax and nap for a while. Around 15:30 we were back on the road and heading toward the hash. We followed the Phone GPS, but getting to the neighborhood, we found that we were on the wrong side of the block to access the hash in the poorly designed and curvy/cul-de-sac roads of this suburban area. Carefully navigating 'around the block' we found the field with the hash and parked on a side road. J wasn't interested in joining me for this one, so I wandered over a few minutes late for an Official Saturday Meetup. Getting to the hash, it was a short GPS dance with the HashDroid app to secure another successful expedition. After getting my pictures, I saw someone walking by on the other side of the road with that always curious look of 'I wonder what that weirdo is doing taking selfies in a field'.

Getting back to the car, I told J about it and she replied with: Yeah, that's why I didn't want to go to this one. Getting to be dinnertime, we found an Asian restaurant on the way back from the hash that was quite delicious.

Sunday, our last day in Denver, was spend going to brunch and a couple breweries before heading to the airport to fly home. Gotta say the line for security was really crazy. We handed our bags to Southwest Airlines, and then went to find the end of the line for the South side of Security. We ended up walking literally 3/4ths of the way across the terminal and we were getting worried. Finding the end of the line, I saw the North side line ending pretty much in the same spot behind this line so we just went to the far shorter line on the North side. Probably saved an hour standing in line and we had time to grab a quick sandwich dinner before our flight.

What a great trip and surprised I was able to get in 5 expeditions!
