After visiting 2023-07-16 47 7 in Grenzach-Wyhlen, I walked towards the station in Grenzach and took the train to Basel Bad. Unlike most of Switzerland, Basel's Baden station is on the right bank of the Rhine and for customs purposes acts as an exclave of the EU on Swiss territory. I didn't have anything to present to customs, so I could leave the station briefly, before going back inside.
From Basel Bad, I took the train via Karlsruhe and Pforzheim to Nagold-Stadtmitte. After a quick walk to Nagold/ZOB, I took the bus to Haiterbach/Oberschwandorf Bürgerhaus and walked the rest of the distance.
The first part of the walk was a steep ascent. Keep in mind that I had my suitcase with me - it has rolls, but still - at least the road was paved. After a while, the pavement stopped and I continued my ascent on a regular forest path. The suitcase was rolling surprisingly well there, and after a while, I reached a plateau.
The coordinates were next to a path in the forest. The Dance™ took me a lot longer thsn usual, but in the end, I was able to locate the coordinates (at a spot that I walked through about a dozen times in the previous minutes) and record proof.
Now it was time to get back to Nagold - not via bus, but on foot through the forest. As I got onto a main path, I ran into other people once in a while, cyclists and hikers. Some of them looked like they wanted to ask me what I was doing dragging around my suitcase through the forest, but none of them did.
I left the forest and the plateau, descending onto Nagold and walked to the ZOB, the central bus station. From Nagold/ZOB, I took the bus via Herrenberg/ZOB to Stuttgart-Vaihingen. From there, I took the train via Stuttgart Central to Osnabrück Central.
In the last train, I met my father by sheer coincidence. I was semi-aware that he was in Stuttgart for the weekend, but I didn't know he would be on this train. Also, I didn't even know I would be on this train just a few hours ago, assuming that there would be a delay with any of the aforementioned busses or trains so I'd be taking a later train. Having each others company on the way back was a nice surprise for both of us. After arriving in Osnabrück, he drove me back home.
