Expedition

Until the hashday morning, I wasn't sure if I would do the expedition. When I woke up, I checked the train schedule and decided to give it a try. I cycled to Wrocław Sołtysowice and took the train to Milicz. On the train, I checked my return options and trains from Ostrów Wielkopolski to Wrocław turned out to be fully booked. The only option left was to return the same way.

From Milicz, I cycled along Milicz Ponds (video). Forest and field tracks turned out to be very sandy. Sometimes it felt like walking on a beach. The route was full of fun town names.

The geohash was located just at the side of a road. At the hash site, I checked that I could catch the train in Krotoszyn. I just needed to cycle 25 kilometres in an hour. I caught at the last minute the Koleje Wielkopolskie train to Milicz. There, I changed for the train to Wrocław.

Not that far from the city, in Borowa, we stopped to find out the catenary was damaged. After two hours of waiting, the train conductor asked me if I could ride my bike to Wrocław. It was very unlikely to set up a replacement service that could take bikes. So I cycled an extra 25 kilometres home from Borowa.
