So, I screwed up the date string in the name of every single photo for this expedition. How do I change the name of a photo? --starbird 18:18, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
[move]-- relet 18:19, 24 March 2009 (UTC)- You would have to re-upload them, but it shouldn't matter. -- Jevanyn 18:44, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- The only reason for that naming convention is to make the filename unique - that's still the case. It's fantastic to see somebody go on expeditions in Japan! --Ilpadre 19:38, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Ah! So the name really doesn't matter, as long as the categories are right. It's still a little annoying that the names are wrong, but not enough that I'm going to bother re-uploading them all. Is there a way to delete a photo, or is that Not Done? --starbird 02:27, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- Generally, plain deletion isn't done, but since you would be replacing the photos with identical ones, just with different names, then deletion would be entirely fine. You can't do it yourself, but you can request it. Simply "Edit" the photo, and add the following tag:
- {{delete|wrong filename used}}
- And at some point Joanna will come along on one of her tidying-up sprees and will get rid of them. -- Benjw 05:33, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
