Template help

I'd be happy to help. I don't have time for a full how-to at the moment, but I'd recommend starting off the same way I did, by looking at how existing templates work and by referencing Wikipedia's template help page. I'm also happy to answer any questions or to help out debugging. Just drop a message on my talk page and I'll do my best. -Matt 19:40, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I made a Ribbon Template for the coldest achievement, which you may want to take and display proudly. No one else will every again have the opportunity to log that award in such sweltering conditions! -Robyn 14:23, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Note Zigdon's recent comment on the Talk:All Graticules page. Tables don't work for machine readability. Can you rip out the ones you did? -Robyn 00:36, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Smoking achivement

Hi Ted, the Smoking geohash achievement is proposed to be deleted (see Talk:Achievements for discussion). This means that I'll need to remove the ribbon from 2008-08-11_36_-122. If you would like to defend the achievement please do so. :) --joannac 12:49, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Delete tag removed (per delete tag instructions) and defense entered on talk page. Ted 14:02, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Alternate coordinates and the Main Page

Hi,

While the reference to comic #201 might be ok (though I don't think it's relevant enough to be on the main page, but on a kind of history of geohashing page), announcing/suggesting alternate algorithms on the main page is kind of no-go. The geohashing community generally agrees that any kind of alternate coordinates, no matter how they are calculated and where they come from, are no geohashing coordinates. If you want to talk about something like that, do it on an appropriate talk page - the main page itself isn't the place for it. There it will just confuse people new to the idea. That's why I reverted your addition for now. --Ekorren 08:02, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
