Expedition

So after a busy morning in the house we jumped in the car and zoomed off to the other side of Auckland, trying to beat the start of rush hour.

We found the park pretty easy and after scoping out the rough position of the hash decided to locate the geocache first. It was called Bells Spider Scare and we were given a rough bearing and distance to find it from a plaque. Once we had managed to retrieve it from under a small bridge we added our signatures to the list and set about playing that silly walk around in circles occasionally stepping forward or diagonally to get the decimals to line up for the photo game.

After a little while and some curious glances from the odd school kid walking by we found it and snapped the GPS, also getting one showing where the geocache was in vicinity to the hash location.

With the job done we settled up by having a little kite flying practice. We didn't think anyone was watching then some fellow came over and commented on our sweet kite. We though 'hey cool' then he gave us a random kite related card and we knew he was just trolling.

Soon after we packed up and headed back to our hobbit type dwelling (yes people because New Zealand is just like Lord of the Rings, but with more sheep).

Also turns out it's exactly a month since we last made a hash, choice!
