We're thinking of possibly popping down to Foxton after F finishes work and walking over to the hashpoint to arrive about 18:30. It's only a possibility though. Either way, it looks like we've got a good chance of being September's most active graticule. I personally find it pretty remarkable that we seem to be averaging roughly two hashes per week! Most active graticules

Tongs (talk) 19:03, 28 September 2015 (EDT)

Well done Benjw. Once again Norwich and Cambridge are neck and neck. 2015-09-29 52 1 looks very reachable. 2015-09-30 52 1 might be unless there are grazing animals. 2015-09-30 52 0 near Ely looks possible but uninteresting. --Sourcerer (talk) 10:10, 29 September 2015 (EDT)
Looking at the graticule statistics, anyone a bit competitive would go for 2015-09-30 52 0. It's a bit far for me though. --Sourcerer (talk) 10:19, 29 September 2015 (EDT)
I was indeed just looking at 2015-09-30 52 0 and thinking about going. Trouble is, it's a bit boring by car and it's an awkward place to get to by bike (I wouldn't cycle up the A10, and the alternative is a very circuitous route through lots of villages). On the other hand, the number 9 bus goes from just down the road and will drop me a mile away in Ely centre. Perhaps I will. — Benjw  {talk} 10:22, 29 September 2015 (EDT)
I've spotted a mistake in my expedition to 2015-09-28 52 1. I have changed it from not-reached to reached. This slightly changes the graticule statistics. I suspect that we'll share the most-active-graticule honours again. --Sourcerer (talk) 10:33, 29 September 2015 (EDT)
Given that you'll have contributed half of Cambridge's (potentially) ten expeditions, I'm not sure we can really claim to be more active than you!  :-) — Benjw  {talk} 10:41, 29 September 2015 (EDT)
I really don't mind whether Cambridge or Norwich "wins". On the other hand I'd be over the moon if Norwich could beat the six year Atlanta, Georgia record. This is by no means in the bag. From Sept to Dec, With average luck, there could be 51 expeditions but only 45 coordinates reached. That would do the trick with only one coordinates-reached to spare. August was terrible with a 98% chance there would be more than 12 land hashpoints. --Sourcerer (talk) 10:53, 29 September 2015 (EDT)
And I secretly enjoy winning against the active German graticules as we don't seem to be able to beat them at football. But I have mixed feelings about that. I was born in Köln, Germany and lived in Düsseldorf, Germany until I was 15. --Sourcerer (talk) 11:04, 29 September 2015 (EDT)

Toys left for PaintedJaguar

Hey PaintedJaguar, T was pretty excited that you found the toys. It's the first time we've left any kind of market. Hope you didn't spend too long looking - had it been blown by the wind into the trees or was it just the accuracy of your receiver? Tongs (talk) 10:00, 30 September 2015 (EDT)

It took a couple of minutes to find them - purely because my GPS wasn't being very helpful. They looked like they might have been where you left them: maybe a metre or two into the field, and right next to each other. They looked deliberately placed next to each other, and not blown about by the wind. I've left a pile of rocks at a hashpoint before, and had them found by somebody else (2013-06-02_52_1), but this is the first time I've found a marker left by somebody else! --PaintedJaguar (talk) 19:29, 1 October 2015 (EDT)
