Hmmm - interesting, difficult and expensive but the rain left off until later. Last time I visited Whitlingham Country Park, you could park for free with a river view. Now it's all blocked off and you have to pay to park. There was an obvious footpath but it led to a deep disused sand quarry filled with mature trees and brambles. The slopes were very steep but could be climbed with difficulty. The umbrella did not help! The brambles blocked the best route so there was some more clambering up and down to reach the correct path. The hashpoint was in yet more brambles, about 3 metres off this path. The return route was much easier but longer. The April showers were causing the sky to act like a lava lamp and the hashpoint was refracting all over the place. I reached it three times in slightly different positions but my best photo said 4 metres.
