I got home from a short day walk this afternoon and, as I sat outside in the sun to read a book, I checked the hashes. D'oh! - missed an awesome one yesterday on the Brighton coast near where I was. But woah! Today's in only 5kms away!
I jumped on my bike and raced off. Sadly, Lachie wasn't around, despite it being very close to his house, so I proceeded alone.
Tracking the railway line I was swooped by a non-magpie, my first swooping this season in Melbourne. But it didn't prevent me from the reaching the hash, which was conveniently located right on the footpath, at the intersection, in front of the pedestrian push-button where people were awkwardly trying to cross.
I took my photos and rolled home. What an adventure!
Here is my route.

Expedition: Felix Dance and Lachie
At 9pm, I prodded Lachie to see if he'd done the hash yet, since it was so close to his house.
No, he hadn't.
So, dinner finished, I jumped on my bike and headed over to assist him. We met up at his place in Moonee Ponds and got together a good list of achievements we could get: Pirate, musical instrument, juggling, squishee and Tron. We debated going for the Hobbit geohash achievement by walking barefoot there, but got lazy and gave up on that one, possibly foolishly.
Carefully getting our bikes around a route we wouldn't cross on the way home, we arrived at the hash with our pirate hats. We danced around getting to the point, donning hats, then juggling and simultaneously playing the same harmonica. Possibly some weird looks from passers-by.
To finish up, we walked our bikes into the 7/11 right at the hash to buy squishees. We didn't get photos of these, but Lachie took a screenshot of his bank account showing the purchase.
We carefully came back a different route to avoid crossing our tracks for the Tron achievement. Lachie treated me to a post-hash beer at his place before I made my own way home. Giving up on achieving my own Tron achievement after a few mis-steps. Possibly, this was the first geohash I'd been to twice, going home in the interim.
