I left my car at a farm 333 metres west of the hashpoint. "Oh", I thought, "I just have to walk across this meadow, cross this little wood, and then I'm already there!" Well, haha, nope. The meadow was a steep slope, but this did not hinder me much. But the "little" wood was a f*ing jungle! Thorny bramble bushes, thick underwood, this forest had it all. Ah, and slopes of course. In short, it was an utterly stupid idea to try to cross it, especially in walking shoes, good jeans and a polo shirt. I finally made it to the other side some hundred yards north of the target and was greeted by man-high stinging nettles. I should have brought a machete. But even those could not keep me from reaching the (mosquito infested) hash point. I took some photos as quickly as possible and went back into the wood before the vampires could suck me dry. In this part the forest was a bit nicer, so I did not attempt to walk back in a straight line and tooke a little detour to the south instead. No bramble and thorns there, I even met three hares (which were to quick for a photo shooting, I'm afraid). I reached the meadow with no trouble at all, but the downside was that I had to walk through high grass (on a steep slope, did I mention that before?). I reached the farm and was confronted by an angry farmer who wanted to know what I was doing. "Going for a walk", I said. "In the high grass? You know that there are footpaths in this area!" - Well, that's right, and I was in no mood to explain geohashing to him. I muttered an excuse, got back to the car and drove off.

Plans

I left work early and went for a spontaneous hashing adventure.

Expedition

And don't tell me that geohashing wasn't an exciting hobby!
