Lachlan and John met on Tin Alley at Melbourne Uni. Tin Alley changes its name 17 times but is essentially the same road as Whitehorse road in Box Hill. John and Lachlan rode in basically a straight line, Lachlan's gears were getting rather angry and tried to eject him at each hill and each set of traffic lights. John questioned the name Box Hill, pointing out that they rode down hill to get there. Thankfully the previous suburb of Mont Albert provided context. Once in Box Hill they spotted a Seven-11. They crossed the road a bought a slurpee, discussed the dubious merit of 7-Eleven's new biodegradeable/compostable cups and then crossed another road.

Further discussion of the plant based cups took place. John and Lachlan crossed the road mocking 7-11, assuming the recycling scheme would be all a sham. Much to their relief when they reached the bin in the 711 parking lot there was a sign instructing them not to put the cups in the bin but instead to go inside to properly dispose of the responsible cups.

After another minute of scraping around the store Lachlan admitted he was lost and asked the clerk for directions. John and Lachlan rode in basically a straight line, Lachlan's gears were getting rather angry and tried to eject him at each hill and each set of traffic lights. They wandered out into the peakhour traffic on a 6 lane highway, took some selfies and retreated to the footpath.

Lachlan and John rode down Elgar Road to the river, by this point John was satisfied that Box Hill was a hill. Lachlan and John enjoyed a few beers on a park bench and then went home.

Expedition 2: Stevage

PXL 20230220 075845625.jpg

After going to an enormous amount of effort the other day to claim the Warrnambool virgin graticule, it seemed fitting to balance it out with a zero-effort hash.

I got in the car.

I drove to Box Hill.

I drove down Whitehorse Road, on the right hand side of the left lane, with my phone by the driver's side window.

I pulled over, checked that Hashdroid had indeed registered a success, took a belated selfie, and drove home.
